Agape and Poliform Flagship StoreShowroom
Considering that the products are elegant with its simple line and color, and it might be renewed every season, the space should be designed not only for the products in present, but also for the new products in future. Moreover, the store would be in an old building, which has lots of huge windows that bring much natural light. Owing to above concerns, designer tried to take advantages of building rather than adding too much unnecessary materials to create the space.
The Agape and Poliform Flagship Store, designed by Hao Chen, is a stunning showroom located in Taichung, Taiwan. The space is specifically designed to showcase the elegant and timeless products of Agape and Poliform, while also providing flexibility for future product updates. The store is housed in an old building with large windows that flood the space with natural light, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
One of the unique properties of this design is its use of color. The space predominantly features black, white, and gray, which serve as a neutral backdrop to highlight the products on display. By using these basic colors, along with simple lines and strategic lighting effects, the space allows the products to take center stage without overwhelming the overall aesthetic.
The design team faced several challenges in creating this space. One of the main challenges was integrating the original building structure, design concept, and products in a way that presented them in the most suitable and appealing manner. Additionally, careful consideration was given to adjusting the lighting and shadow elements to create a diverse atmosphere that evolves throughout the day. Another challenge was planning for a smooth traffic flow within the store to ensure a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for customers.
The Agape and Poliform Flagship Store is not only visually stunning but also environmentally conscious. By utilizing the existing building structure and maximizing the use of natural light, the design minimizes the need for excessive materials and energy consumption. This approach not only reduces waste but also contributes to a more sustainable and eco-friendly space.
