Less is More: A Minimalist Residential House

Creating a Pure Perception of Space with Black and White

The colorless scheme of black and white conveys a pure perception of space. Black has a sense of weight and adds stability and calmness to the environment. White, on the other hand, has a feeling of lightness and breathability. Black and white colors create a strong and dramatic contrast. There is an excellent use of color palette in a minimalist design to help present a simple and neat vibe. Clean lines and a clear view build up a space with stripped-down simplicity.

Chenghe Studio Co., Ltd presents "Less is More," a residential house that embodies the essence of minimalism. With a focus on black and white colors, this design creates a harmonious living scene through the careful use of contrast and simplicity.

One of the unique properties of this design is the excellent use of color palette. The black and white colors create a strong and dramatic contrast, adding visual interest to the space. The clean lines and clear view further enhance the minimalist aesthetic, allowing the design to speak for itself.

The use of earth tone furniture and bright pieces adds warmth and a lively undertone to the otherwise cold space. The warmth and glow of wood bring a sense of comfort and coziness, balancing the starkness of the black and white palette.

The design features an open floor concept, allowing natural light to flood the space and create a seamless connection with the outdoors. The entrance area incorporates a platform that serves as a shoe stool, while a large storage closet meets all potential needs.

The dining room and kitchen are defined by a half-height bar, with glass folding doors that maintain a transparent view while blocking smoke. The master bedroom continues the tone of the public domain, with a silvery white fabric headboard providing a skin-friendly feel.

Chenghe Studio Co., Ltd successfully realized this design using aluminum frame glass, modeling puzzle, imported wallpaper, system cabinet, wooden grille, baking varnish, and stone. The result is a minimalist residential house that exudes elegance and sophistication.

In the space of 148 square meters, "Less is More" offers three bedrooms, one living room, one dining room, two bathrooms, one kitchen, one dressing room, and a storeroom. The thoughtful layout and attention to detail ensure that every inch of space is utilized effectively.

This project, completed in May 2021 in Taichung City, Taiwan, showcases the expertise and creativity of Chenghe Studio Co., Ltd. The design team, including Wei Zhih Chen, Anting Liu, MengShan Yu, and GinHua Yu, collaborated to overcome challenges and create a space that is both visually stunning and functional.

"Less is More" has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is a testament to the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the project, meeting professional and industrial requirements.

Chenghe Studio Co., Ltd has successfully created a minimalist residential house that embraces the concept of "less is more." Through the skillful use of black and white colors, clean lines, and a focus on simplicity, this design offers a pure and sophisticated living experience.
