The project, which started in November 2021 in the U.S. and finished in February 2022, was not without its challenges. Zong faced the task of maintaining the authenticity of traditional Chinese calligraphy and Kanji strokes while creating a visually pleasing modern design layout. To strike the right balance, Zong interviewed calligraphers, collected their opinions and suggestions after several draft options, and finally came up with a solution that blended both styles well.
