The location of the festival is famous for the strong wind during the winter, and this art installation coheres with the surroundings. The structure consists of ductile steel and bamboo, which bounce when there is wind around the art installation. This unique property sets the installation apart from others, creating a dynamic and interactive experience for viewers.
The installation was realized using metal dowels with bamboo slices, forming a structure that measures 2.4 meters in width, depth, and 2.1 meters in height. The swirling, arc-shaped design was chosen to create a soothing atmosphere under the strong wind, allowing people to 'dance with the wind'.
LED light strips are placed around the bamboo and steel bars, creating a topography of light that visualizes the currents between the art installation. This lighting installation not only illuminates the space but also attracts people into it, becoming a space for tourist interaction.
The designers' notes reveal that the Luo Shan Feng is not just a wind, but also the driving force of life for the local people. The installation reflects this, aiming to blow away life's fatigue and let people dance with the wind. The use of local materials such as bamboo also reflects a lifestyle that suits local conditions.
The 'Dance With The Wind' installation was awarded the Golden A' Lighting Projects and Light Art Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
