Mucha: A Custom Furniture Design by Oppein Home Group Inc.

Creating a Healthy and Soothing Living Space

As the idea of comprehensive health is remoulded owing to the later pandemic era, a healthy and orderly living space satisfying the physical, mental and spiritual needs of consumers is more expected. Considering that, this project integrates the natural elements of Art Nouveau into interior design. It utilizes colors of land, minerals, volcanic rocks, etc. and soft line elements like plants, flowers, etc. to wake up the yearning for pastoral or outdoor life, and to create a peaceful, soothing atmosphere to enhance emotional stability of occupants for physical and mental health.

This is a soothing home space designed based on the idea of health. Taking health and a soothing feeling as the theme, it integrates elements like shapes, colors, patterns, etc. of natural substances into green building materials, so as to form a bridge for emotional and spiritual communication with occupants. The integration of doors, walls, and cabinets helps to realize reasonable traffic flow and a simple yet exquisite style, offering a comfortable, convenient, healthy home living experience.

The Mucha design incorporates various technologies and materials to bring the concept to life. The original purify formaldehyde antibacterial material improves air quality to ensure the physical and mental health of occupants. The baking paint leads to good resistance to high pressure, wear, and corrosion. The arched oriented strand board developed by the brand helps to achieve a curved shape and save priming or veneering processes, with a surface that is flat and not easy to crack. Glass doors are plated with a film that is easy to clean, making them free of fingerprints and water stains. Sofas and chairs adopt breathable, antibacterial, mite-resistant fabrics for hygiene, cleanliness, and comfort.

The Mucha design is suitable for spaces ranging from 200㎡ to 300㎡, offering a versatile solution for different living environments. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are connected via unfixed partitions, allowing for a more spacious space for leisure, exercise, and socializing. Natural light flows into the kitchen through French windows, linking the indoors and outdoors for a lively atmosphere. Corners and sofas are designed with a smooth, rounded shape to create a sense of visual transition and extension, reducing the sense of insecurity caused by sharp lines or angles.

The Mucha design project was started in January 2022 and completed in December 2022 in Guangzhou, China. It is estimated to be launched in March 2023, offering a unique and innovative approach to interior design. The combination of earth tones and line elements strikes a balance between peace and dynamism, creating an exquisite, elegant modern style with a warm, harmonious home atmosphere. Green plants and natural light are used to bring the space closer to nature and improve the happiness of occupants at home, contributing to a relaxing space through the power of nature.

The integration of doors, walls, and cabinets posed a challenge in this project. It required finding a balance between each function and catering to the aesthetic taste of consumers. Natural colors, materials, patterns, and technologies harmonize with each other in this project for visual consistency. Details such as the embedded horizontal line of the wallboard matching the metal narrow frame of doors or cabinets, and the use of open cabinets inclined at an angle of 45 degrees echoed by embedded bevel handles, strengthen the visual balance.

The Mucha design by Oppein Home Group Inc. is a testament to the importance of creating a healthy and soothing living space. It combines the principles of Art Nouveau with modern design elements to offer a unique and elegant home experience. This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
