Arnau Bosch Verges Creates a Unique Visual Identity for Alicia Rius

The inspiration behind this design was the desire to create a business card that would not be easily discarded or forgotten. Verges wanted to design a card that people would want to keep and show to others. The result is a business card that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Alicia Rius' photography, making it immediately apparent what she does even without reading the text.

The business card's unique properties lie in its reflection of the purity of photography. The card is a slide that can be easily read with natural light, but can also be projected using any light source. This innovative design was realized using an analog camera, a tripod, a positive roll, and Photoshop for the design of the cards. The slides are presented inside a vintage Kodak slide box, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.

The production process involved opening the design in Photoshop on a computer, shooting the computer screen in the dark with the analog camera, developing the film, cutting the film, and placing the film in colored plastic frames. The frames, originally grey, were colored to make them more playful and visually appealing.

The project, which took a month to complete, was created in Amsterdam for an exhibition in Spain. The design team, led by Verges, faced several challenges during the production process. The main challenge was to create a design that was different and would stand out. Once the idea was conceived, the production posed the next challenge. The design had to be in focus with the analog camera, and the frame had to be centered. Several tests were conducted until the design was perfected.

The design was well received, with clients reacting positively to the slides. The design's success is evident in its recognition by the A' Design Award, which recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that contribute to societal wellbeing. This award-winning design is a testament to Verges' creative genius and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of design.
