Reflection: Personalized Earrings that Reflect Your Identity

Sometimes, amidst the chaos of our daily routines, we find ourselves losing touch with our true selves. Standing in a crowded place one day, I looked at the faces of the people around me and asked, "Who are we?" This question, which often occupies my mind, along with Avicenna's "Suspended Man" hypothesis, strongly influenced the creation of this unique design.

Introducing Reflection, a pair of earrings that not only complements your style but also reflects your identity. These earrings have the ability to capture the essence of your face and become the most personal earrings you will ever own. They can also serve as a reflection of who you aspire to be. For example, in this project, one of the earrings was designed with the profile of John Lennon, a man whose thoughts, feelings, and face will never be forgotten.

The realization of this design is made possible through the use of white gold, a material that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The earrings' curves follow the contours of the profile they represent, creating a harmonious and visually striking piece of jewelry.

The main challenge we faced during the creation of these earrings was how to elevate them beyond being mere pieces of gold. We wanted them to convey a sense of purpose and meaning in the simplest and most minimalist form possible. By capturing the essence of a person's face, we believe we have achieved this goal.

Reflection is not just a piece of jewelry; it is a reflection of your true self. It serves as a reminder to always stay connected to your identity and embrace the question, "Who AM I?"

The project started in January 2013 and was completed in June 2013 in Tehran. The design process involved immersing myself in crowded public spaces rather than relying solely on library research. By observing and engaging with the dialogue, images, sounds, and faces of the people around me, I was able to create a design that truly captures the essence of personal identity.

This exceptional design, Reflection, was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2014. The Bronze A' Design Award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that showcase experience, resourcefulness, and excellence. It is recognized for incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
