Voronoi Clinic: A Unique Approach to Plastic Surgery

A New Brand in Plastic Surgery Designed by Helen Brasinika

The Voronoi Clinic takes inspiration from Voronoi diagrams, dividing space into regions, representing cellular rejuvenation and reconstruction in plastic surgeries.

The Voronoi Clinic, designed by Helen Brasinika, is a new brand in plastic surgery that aims to provide ergonomics and aesthetics in small spaces ranging from 50 to 100 square meters. The clinic's unique design sets it apart from its counterparts, offering sleek and glossy finishes that interact with matte and rough textures. The color scheme, featuring black, white, and surgery blue lighting, showcases the dynamic nature of the concept. The use of grey and de-saturated blue as new clinical classics adds a touch of sophistication to the space.

The clinic's key feature is the lacquered wood Voronoi wall and ceiling paneling, designed using 3D Cad Pytha software and manufactured off-site. The panels were then securely installed using a key interlocking system. The floors and walls are adorned with grey and blue plasters made from mineral powder and advanced polyresin formulas, ensuring both aesthetics and a hygienic, anti-mould environment.

Occupying only 50 square meters, the Voronoi Clinic offers a private entrance to the reception waiting area. Two private treatment rooms provide customers with the option of enjoying color therapy using RGB fiber optics, while the doctor has a private office and examination room. The waiting area, designed as an integral part of the grey lavaplaster volume, incorporates vintage car leather to add elements of time, quality, and dynamism.

The clinic's design is not only visually appealing but also functional. The 120cm hallway leading to the reception area is conceptualized as a void tunnel, allowing for thought drainage and mood transcendence. The reception itself is designed as a crack on a solid wall, hinting at layers of skin and resurfacing. The polyline design follows the concept of Voronoi cells, adding to the clinic's unique identity.

The environmental branding for the Voronoi Clinic was commissioned in February 2014, and construction was completed in mid-May 2014 in Syntagma Square, Athens. Extensive research was conducted on lab and clinical environments, as well as space perception and customer satisfaction in medical environments. The design of the clinic aimed to create a relaxing and lounge-like atmosphere, departing from the typical clinical environment that often induces anxiety in patients.

The Voronoi Clinic faced creative, technical, and research challenges. The design had to establish a strong clinical identity while deviating from the typical elements found in clinical and lab environments. Additionally, outdated regulations posed a burden on the project, as they did not account for the latest advances in technology, research, and architectural specifications.

The Voronoi Clinic, with its innovative design and attention to detail, has been recognized for its excellence. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2015 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the clinic's outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
