Unlimited Boundary, Infinite Vision: A Transformational Public Space by Kris Lin

Revolutionizing Public Spaces Through Architectural Renovation and Integration

Renowned designer Kris Lin redefines the concept of public spaces with his award-winning project, "Unlimited Boundary, Infinite Vision". This architectural renovation project seamlessly integrates interior, architectural, and landscape elements, creating an engaging environment for interaction, contemplation, and appreciation.

Located in Hangzhou, China, this project is a testament to Lin's innovative approach to design. The project began in May 2013 and was completed by July of the same year. The 250 square meter space was transformed into a public area that encourages communication and amalgamation between people, architecture, and nature.

The building's unique properties lie in its redesigned architecture elevation and interior. The existing elevations and partitions of the building were completely removed, leaving only the structure intact. This allowed Lin and his team, including Jiayu Yang, to create a new design that breaks the boundaries of traditional interior, architectural, and landscape design.

The building features frameless glass windows, allowing the landscape pool to extend into the interior area and the interior marble wall to extend to the exterior wall of the building. A bridge goes through the building's exterior wall and the pool, ending in the landscape grassland. This continuous interlocking design breaks boundaries and integrates the three elements of interior, architecture, and landscape.

Lin's design philosophy focuses on integrating every space or corridor with nature. The wall design is pure and individual, and massive landscapes can be seen through the frameless glass. This integration of interior design and landscape offers a great view from any angle of the interior space.

The project faced challenges in achieving total integration, which is the core value of the design. However, Lin's innovative approach and dedication to creating a space for communication and amalgamation between people, architecture, and nature resulted in a design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The "Unlimited Boundary, Infinite Vision" project has been recognized for its innovative design and impact on public spaces. It was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2015, a prestigious accolade granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology.
