Agaves de Mexico: A Celebration of Mexican Spirits

A Unique Collection Honoring Mexico's Cultural Diversity

Mexico is the source of inspiration. Agaves de Mexico is an exercise of pride, honoring the cultural diversity, richness of the soil, and strength of its traditions. In four bottles, it gathers more than two thousand years of history, recounting the customs of the people who inhabited these lands. Four spirits distilled from the agave were chosen to reflect an entire country: Sotol represents the taste of the North, Mezcal depicts the Southern lore, Sisal showcases the style of the Eastern culture, and Tequila has its appellation of origin in the West.

Agaves de Mexico is not just another product; it is an act of rebellion. While there is a lot of regionalism regarding agave drinks, no one has ever dared to put them together before. This collection unifies the whole country into one sole story, merging the millennial cult of distilling agave with the recognized fine art of smelting silver. The result is a collector's item that is inconceivable in Mexico.

The design of Agaves de Mexico sets it apart from any other product. Each piece is cast in Penoles Silver, one of the best in the world, and showcases exquisite metalwork. The bottles are glass-blown and feature handcrafted sandblast-carved labels, finished in gold or silver, depending on the market it is addressed to. The center of each bottle holds a silver cup shaped like the Agave's Heart, perfectly fitting into the bottle.

With dimensions of 160mm x 160mm x 187mm, Agaves de Mexico is a visually stunning collection that captures the essence of Mexican design. It combines the richness of Mexican culture with the craftsmanship of silverwork, resulting in a truly unique and luxurious product.

"Agaves de Mexico" is not just a collection of spirits; it is a cultural and creative exercise that harmoniously combines design, engineering, craftsmanship, agriculture, and history. It invites individuals to experience the sophisticated art of tasting, allowing them to compare and enjoy four different drinks. The silver and bottle design make it a collector's item that will maintain its value forever.

The conceptual project for Agaves de Mexico began in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in April 2014. The metalwork is done in Torreon, Coahuila, where the mine from which the silver is extracted is located. The bottles are blown in the State of Mexico, and the sandblasted finishing is done in Guadalajara, where all the integration takes place.

The design team behind Agaves de Mexico conducted extensive research to ensure the product's success. They investigated regulations for the export and import of alcoholic beverages in the target countries and met with distributors to understand customer needs. Overcoming creative, technical, and research challenges, the team created a design that showcases the varieties of Agave plants and distillates while communicating the wealth and cultural diversity of Mexico.

Agaves de Mexico is a limited edition collection of 500 bottles. It merges the work of silversmiths with the diversity of Mexican drinks, creating a jewel that aims to promote and disseminate the natural and cultural heritage of Mexico. This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2015, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.
