Le Campus: Redefining Workspace Design

Virserius Studio's Award-Winning Multifunctional Space

Le Campus, a revolutionary workspace design by Virserius Studio, offers a fresh take on traditional meeting and event spaces. Drawing inspiration from the American college campus, this multifunctional space is designed to foster interaction, creativity, and freedom.

Located within a hotel, Le Campus is a hybrid collaborative workspace that breaks away from conventional norms. The design embodies bold and unusual choices in color, texture, and overall aesthetic, inviting users to take similar creative risks in their collaborations. The space is designed to be low maintenance, cost-effective, and durable, reducing its environmental impact over time. The use of Amtico flooring, known for its sustainability and energy efficiency, further underscores this commitment to the environment.

The design of Le Campus is marked by its deliberate space planning. The open spaces at the core of the design include a social center, game room, and library, fostering interaction and brainstorming. The satellite offices and meeting spaces form the perimeter, flowing seamlessly back to the core, enabling users to reconnect socially, replenish physically, and rejuvenate creatively.

One of the key challenges in designing Le Campus was to create an optimal environment that boosts cohesion, collaboration, and idea-sharing, while respecting the client's needs. The goal was to support creative freedom, and the designers were given the liberty to create a remarkable space that best serves its users. The result is a space that challenges traditional notions of a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) space, liberating users from typical workspaces to recharge and reconnect.

Le Campus measures approximately 800 square meters and features regionally sourced and produced pieces. One of the antique pinball machines in the game room, for instance, was purchased by one of the owners at a vintage shop in the English countryside. The project began in early 2014 and was completed by the end of August the same year.

The design of Le Campus has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2016. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advance art, science, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.

In conclusion, Le Campus by Virserius Studio is a testament to the power of design in transforming traditional work and meeting spaces. By challenging norms and embracing creative freedom, it offers a unique, interactive, and inspiring environment that fosters collaboration and creativity.
