LUXURY INDEAAH REDEFINED

Residential House Designed by AMEE VORA

This residential space narrates the new story of contemporary Indian luxe: encapsulating a mélange of reinterpreted elements of Indian luxury and brands that represent International luxury living. This custom space is tailored to suit the needs and taste of the users, and at the same time integrate indigenous art and craft into the decor.

This residential house, designed by AMEE VORA, is a stunning example of contemporary Indian luxury. Inspired by classical Indian luxury homes, the designer reinterprets traditional elements to suit modern living. The project embraces the Bauhaus approach in design, preserving the past while moving forward and staying connected to Indian culture.

The unique properties of this design lie in its ability to seamlessly blend reinterpreted elements of Indian luxury with international brands that represent luxury living. The custom interior space is tailored to the needs and taste of the users, while integrating indigenous art and craft into the decor. The result is a total experience of contemporary Indian luxury.

The design of this residential space showcases intricate details, opulence, and functionality. Each room brings forth an inventive reinterpretation of elements of Indian luxury, creating a space that is both contemporary and true to its cultural roots. The ceiling features CNC cut and bent, sheet brass rafters, paying homage to the exposed wood rafters found in traditional Indian homes. The walls are adorned with hand cast, stamped, and CNC cut, nickel plated brass wall panels and motorized sliding screens, along with brass fins, transforming them into pieces of art.

The realization of this design involved the expertise of skilled artisans and craftsmen, who handcrafted many of the elements. From hand cut glass details from Kolkata to marquetry of semi-precious stones from Agra, every detail was carefully researched and executed to perfection.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was seamlessly integrating the traditional Indian craft into the interiors, creating a cohesive Indian narrative. The designer successfully combined the flow of materials with contemporary pieces and techniques, resulting in a space that is truly unique.

This residential house is not just a physical space, but an experience. It challenges the notion of buying tangible status symbols and instead offers a unique intangible experience of contemporary Indian luxury. The flow of spaces, along with the carefully curated details, allows the indigenous pieces to speak with the modern, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for the client.

The project, which started in 2013 and ended in 2015, is located in India. It has received recognition for its exceptional design, winning the Iron A' Design Award in 2016. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings, and contributing to a better world.
