Creating a Geometric Signature with Hidden Meaning

SeeSaw Optometrist, a group of passionate and enthusiastic eye care professionals, wanted a new concept logo that would represent their brand in a unique way. Instead of the commonly used designs based on spectacles or eye shapes, they sought a logo that would capture the essence of their profession and convey their commitment to comprehensive eye care.

The main identity of the SeeSaw brand lies in an eye diagram, representing how the human eye sees and how light travels into the eye. This eye diagram is combined with the letter 'A' to complete the logo, symbolizing the brand's name, See and Saw. The geometric signature created by this combination is not only visually appealing but also holds a hidden meaning, reflecting the brand's focus on vision and eye health.

The logo was realized through a combination of sketches and Adobe Illustrator, allowing for precise execution of the design. The final logo was then applied to various materials, including business cards measuring 90mm x 50mm, to create a cohesive and professional brand identity for SeeSaw Optometrist.

The design team, led by Bel Koo, faced the challenge of expressing the concepts of 'See' and 'Saw' in a unique and visually engaging way. By incorporating the eye diagram and the letter 'A' into the logo, they successfully created a design that captures the essence of the brand and stands out from the crowd.

SeeSaw Optometrist's logo design project took place in Malaysia, starting in April 2014 and concluding in June 2014. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to gain a deep understanding of how the human eye works, ensuring that the logo accurately represents the brand's expertise in eye care.

This unique logo design for SeeSaw Optometrist has garnered recognition and acclaim. In 2017, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
