A Luxurious Residence Designed by Cheng Sheng

Cheng Sheng, a renowned designer, has created a stunning residence that captures the essence of the luxurious AMAN Hotel. With a focus on creating an elegant and delicate space, the design team has transformed a 130 square footage indoor area into a haven of tranquility and sophistication.

One of the standout features of this design is the attention to detail in the dining room and kitchen. Taking inspiration from Japanese-style grilles, the design team has ingeniously recreated the ambiance of luxurious restaurants. The delicate screens not only provide privacy but also soften the daylight, creating a serene atmosphere.

The combination of traditional elements and contemporary design is another unique aspect of this residence. The dangling lights bring a touch of modernity to the traditional humanity style, creating a harmonious blend of old and new. The result is a space that is both timeless and stylish.

In the large living room, the ceiling adorned with simple lines creates a composed visual effect. Recessed illuminations on the ceiling and walls, along with a large ceiling window, invigorate the space and fill it with natural light. The design team has carefully considered every aspect of the residence, ensuring that each room exudes a sense of tranquility and sophistication.

Designed based on the rooms in AMAN Hotel, the main bedroom is a testament to the designer's attention to detail. With a delicate entranceway, a spacious dressing room, a comfortable bed, and a reading area, the bedroom offers a private sanctuary for relaxation. The use of wood materials adds warmth and a sense of nature to the space, further enhancing the Zen-like atmosphere.

The design project was completed in August 2016 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The design team drew inspiration from the AMAN Hotel, known for its serene and relaxing atmosphere amidst natural landscapes and historical sites. The AMAN Hotel in Tokyo, in particular, served as a reference for the design team, showcasing a perfect blend of Zen and modern styles in a metropolitan setting.

The design of this residence presented several challenges that the design team successfully overcame. The screen windows, with their plain color, not only provide privacy but also soften the daylight, creating a serene ambiance. Additionally, the glamorous faux finishing, imported from Italy, showcases the graceful lifestyle envisioned by the designer.

This exceptional design by Cheng Sheng has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2017. This award is a testament to the outstanding creativity and ingenuity displayed in this design, which seamlessly blends art, science, and technology to enhance the quality of life.
