Assorting Derivation: A Unique Approach to Interior Design

Exploring Tzu-Cheng Cho's Innovative Design Approach in a Sample House

Assorting Derivation, a unique interior design project by Tzu-Cheng Cho, offers a fresh perspective on space utilization. This article delves into the innovative design process, the inspiration behind it, and its unique features that set it apart.

Tzu-Cheng Cho's Assorting Derivation is not just a sample house; it is a testament to the designer's innovative approach to space utilization and design. The inspiration for this design came from the idea of creating a communication medium between public and private areas. The display bookshelf in the reading room, composed of array segments, actuality with abstraction, and indirect lighting and finishing, is a perfect embodiment of this concept. It extends to the closet of the main bedroom, signifying an attempt to break through the existing logical space.

What sets Assorting Derivation apart is the designer's unique approach to space. The space's scale, brightness, visibility, sunshine and shadow, height, and segmentations are all carefully considered and expressed. The wooden boards with sawing marks, uniquely colored and segmented in rectangles, add a unique touch to the background wall behind the sofa.

The realization of this design was no easy feat. The display bookshelf, a key feature of the design, required careful planning and execution. The designer's solution for the space was fully expressed through various elements, including the scale, brightness, visibility, sunshine and shadow, height, and segmentations.

Assorting Derivation is not just about aesthetics; it's about functionality too. The magnitudes of a space are not only a resolution for a space unit but a focus on design assessment on the environment as a whole. The design was completed in February 2016 in Taiwan, spanning an area of 165 square meters.

The design process involved extensive research. From the entrance to the French windows by the balcony, the finishes are metaphorically segmented and extended. They connect the entrance, the dining room, and the living room. Through the counter at the middle of the room, the vision is stretched to the reading area, adding a variety of ways for the use of space as the dwellers set up the room differently due to different daily applications.

Assorting Derivation has been recognized for its innovative design approach. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. The award is a testament to the design's outstanding expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
