Beef Zavod: A Unique Butcher's Shop Restaurant

Inside out design concept brings a new twist to dining experience

The inspiration for Beef Zavod came from the building's history. Previously a carpet factory and a repair plant, the space still retained its brutal aesthetics. Evdokimov decided to accentuate this industrial charm in the interior design, complementing it with luxurious Italian furniture. The result is a harmonious blend of shapes and lines that create a visually striking atmosphere.

What sets Beef Zavod apart is its "Inside out" concept. Instead of hiding the meat processing line, the design embraces it and makes it a central feature of the restaurant. Guests can witness the entire process of meat preparation, from the butchering to the cooking, thanks to the open kitchen and a giant Grillworks grill. This unique approach adds an element of transparency and authenticity to the dining experience.

The preservation of elements from the old butcher's shop adds to the restaurant's charm. The original tiling, walls, and ceiling have been carefully maintained, creating a nostalgic ambiance. Alongside the meat processing line, Beef Zavod also features a wine bar, a shop, and comfortable accommodation for guests, ensuring a complete and immersive experience.

To bring this design to life, Evdokimov utilized a combination of materials. Old wood, stainless steel, and Dedar fabric were used to create a balance between the rustic and the contemporary. The result is a space that seamlessly blends the past with the present, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere.

Beef Zavod has garnered recognition for its innovative design. In 2018, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements.
