Neo-Art Deco: Begonia House Sales Center

Reviving Art-Deco in Modern Interior Design

Immerse in the elegance of the Begonia House Sales Center, a masterpiece of Neo-Art Deco design by Kelly Lin and the Bluemoon Interior Design Team. This 2000 square meter project in Tianjin, China, is a testament to the revival of Art-Deco aesthetics, combined with modern minimalism and fashion.

The design inspiration for the Begonia House Sales Center comes from the dynamic shaping in interior design, closely connected with contemporary philosophical thought and artistic style. The economic well-being of the present era serves as the foundation for the revival of decoration. The design team has absorbed the essence of Art-Deco, translating the brilliant architectural aesthetics of metropolises like Paris, New York, and Shanghai into interior design.

What sets the Begonia House Sales Center apart is its unique style of Neo-Art Deco. This style showcases imprint, order, and broadness, resonating with the contemporary upstart class of China. The design team has successfully integrated magnificence, revivalism, and vogue, creating a fascinating visual dream about Neo-Art Deco where the boundaries between history and contemporary, the West and Pan-Orient disappear.

The Begonia House Sales Center is realized through the reinforcement of a sense of ritual in the space with oversized decorative lighting. Repetitive geometric patterns and metallic colors present a sculptural artistic quality. An abstract handmade art installation, made by sophisticated craftsmanship, creates a dramatic effect for the space. The design also includes console tables, branch ornaments, and specially treated hanging decorations, all contributing to the fascination of the space.

The project started in 2016 and finished in July 2017. The development of interior design in China shows great tolerance to various styles, making it a challenge to define the lifestyle desired by the Chinese wealthy class. The design team had to make hard decisions about whether to adopt classical elaboration or modern minimalism, use western or eastern style in the design, track history, or create a brand new design.

Looking into the demand of the project owner and the targeted consumers, the designer was able to incorporate Chinese and western cultures with creativeness as the design themes. They combined the past and modern design trends with different materials, thematic design, and comfort being well considered. This approach re-defined classics and created a sales office space that integrates art and humanistic fashion.

The Begonia House Sales Center was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
