Demonstrating the confidence and persistence required to conquer the highest mountains in the world, Hiking's design showcases the brand's image as a mountain itself. With surfaces featuring an appealing slope of 50 degrees, the store creates an immersive experience that resonates with outdoor enthusiasts.
One of the unique properties of Hiking is its emphasis on safety. Just as people rely on ropes when participating in extreme sports and climbing, Hiking sees itself as the secure connection between individuals and nature. The store sells outdoor outfits and equipment, ensuring that customers can embark on their adventures with confidence.
The realization of Hiking's design involved the use of cutting-edge technology and materials. The store's extensive indoor space, spanning 220 square meters, is built on the concept of decentralization, allowing customers to freely explore and try out products. The ceilings are adorned with wood triangles, creating a visual representation of undulating mountains within the store.
To further enhance the connection to nature, Hiking incorporates eco-friendly woods and red bricks throughout the space. These natural elements not only contribute to the store's aesthetic appeal but also reflect the brand's commitment to preserving the environment for future generations.
Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, Hiking was completed in August 2018. The design team, led by Chao-Hsin Chen, meticulously researched and implemented various techniques to overcome creative and technical challenges. The use of innovative materials and experimental approaches resulted in a design that seamlessly integrates technology and lifestyle.
Hiking's unique design has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. In 2019, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This accolade acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards.
With its captivating design and commitment to safety and sustainability, Hiking sets a new standard for store interiors in the outdoor retail industry. It not only provides a visually stunning shopping experience but also inspires customers to embark on their own outdoor adventures with confidence and style.
