Sky City: A Unique Mixed-Use Project in Foshan

Integrating Innovation and Urban Lifestyle

The Sky City-Foshan Vanke TOD Mixed Use Project is set to become a new city landmark in Foshan, China. With its convenient access to transportation and innovative designs, it aims to offer a unique urban lifestyle experience.

The Sky City-Foshan Vanke TOD Mixed Use Project, designed by Foshan Vanke Properties Dev. Co. Ltd., is a one-of-a-kind development located in Foshan, China. This project stands out for its convenient access to expressways and various public transportation facilities, including metro, wharf, and bus stations. In addition, aerial pathways and underpasses for walking and cycling have been incorporated, providing residents and visitors with even more options for getting around.

One of the key features of the Sky City project is its integration of local history and culture. The layout and architectural forms of the project are inspired by the "mulberry dyke fish pond" model, paying homage to the region's heritage. This unique design element adds a touch of authenticity and creates a sense of place.

Furthermore, the Sky City project aims to serve the entire city of Foshan. It is not only a mixed-use development but also a new city landmark. With its strategic location near the Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre, it provides support for conventions and exhibitions held in the area. This integration of functions and the project's commitment to serving the community make it a truly innovative and forward-thinking development.

The realization of the Sky City project is made possible through advanced technology and construction methods. The project consists of a 240m super high-rise office building, a 150m super high-rise star hotel, and six 150m super high-rise superior apartments. The towers are enveloped by a glass curtain wall system, which includes double-layered insulated low-e glass, aluminum panels, and metal profiles. Additionally, a stone curtain wall system is utilized on the facade of the annex of the super high-rise star hotel, creating a rich and complex effect through different surface treatments of stone.

The Sky City project has a total construction area of 60,000 sqm and is located in the heart of Foshan. It integrates a large shopping mall, hotel, office buildings, and apartments, making it a true mixed-use development. The project is expected to be completed in 2020, marking a significant milestone in the city's urban development.

The Sky City-Foshan Vanke TOD Mixed Use Project is a testament to the creativity and innovation of Foshan Vanke Properties Dev. Co. Ltd. and the design team involved. It has received recognition for its outstanding design, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges the project's contribution to quality of life improvements and its incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
