Unveiling the Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition Center: A New Landmark

Yang Bangsheng's Masterpiece: A Fusion of Functionality, Aesthetics, and Cultural Heritage

Yang Bangsheng's latest design, the Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition Center, is more than just a business hotel. It's a testament to Shenzhen's pioneering spirit, a bridge for communication, and a window to urban culture and beauty. This award-winning design is a perfect blend of functionality, aesthetics, and cultural heritage, setting a new standard in the world of architecture and design.

The Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition Center is strategically located in Shenzhen Airport New Town, adjacent to the world's largest convention and exhibition center. This unique positioning inspired Yang Bangsheng to conceive a design theme of "carrying on the past and opening a way for future", incorporating local cultures of shipping, exhibition, and the ocean. The result is a landmark that is not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also a symbol of the emergence of the world-class Greater Bay Area.

What sets this design apart is its careful consideration of both functionality and aesthetics. The minimal furnishings in the lobby provide ample space for crowds during peak seasons. The lobby lounge and restaurant are designed to facilitate business meetings or casual gatherings, with regionally inspired colors and artworks that offer guests a taste of the local lifestyle. The ballroom exudes luxury and ceremonial solemnity, highlighted by pendant lights inspired by "containers".

The design of the hotel rooms is equally impressive. The furniture's concave and convex shapes, along with the curvaceous lines, evoke the rhythm of flowing seawater, adding a touch of freedom and vitality. This design consideration extends to the flow lines in the hotel, optimized to provide comfort, efficiency, and support for the exhibition and convention center. For instance, the ADD restaurant is strategically located on the third floor, allowing guests to walk directly to the center from the sky loggia beside the lift hall after their breakfast.

The project, which spans an area of 36600 square meters, started in 2018 and was completed in February 2021. Despite the challenges of designing a hotel connected to the world's largest "reception hall" and defining the uniqueness of a city with only four decades of development, Yang Bangsheng and his team successfully created a modern and magnificent international hotel that carries the city's memory and explores a new lifestyle.

The Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition Center is not just a design project; it's a testament to Yang Bangsheng's prodigy and wisdom. It's no surprise that this design was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology. This design is indeed a reflection of extraordinary excellence and significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics.
