Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts: A Sustainable Design Strategy

Reducing Waste and Enhancing Guest Experience

The items were studied to deliver the guests a design "experience". The sensitivity, playfulness, coziness, even the basic items are presented in a more innovative way. A project that aims to make guests feel embraced by the hotel. The unique design and communication of the items were created to generate greater recall for the guest of their stay. A design that positively impacts people's day-to-day lives.

The Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts, designed by Marcelo Lopes Design, stands out for its innovative design strategy that focuses on sustainability and guest experience. The project aims to reduce waste and enhance the overall economy of the hotels, while providing a unique and memorable stay for guests.

The principal points of this project were to give the overall economy a boost by reducing the number of items in the visual identity manual by fifty percent, resulting in less paper consumption. The design team also created a new index structure to facilitate the search for items in the new visual identity manual. In terms of sustainability, the project focused on durability by substituting some support materials with the aim of generating greater longevity for the items. Plastic and TNT materials were replaced with 100% cotton fabric, and all specified paper types are FSC certified.

Most of the new design pieces were made using paper, with some items using plastic, cotton fabric, and post-consumer recycled polypropylene. The project involved over a hundred pieces with different sizes and materials, showcasing the versatility and creativity of the design team.

The Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts project took over a year to complete and was implemented in hotels located in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. The design team conducted extensive research to ensure the reduction in paper consumption and the optimization of various packaging concepts, resulting in a more sustainable and efficient design.

One of the main challenges faced by the design team was the reduction in the number of pieces in the visual identity manual. They successfully reduced the number from 220 to 110 pieces, while maintaining the size and elegance of the items. This achievement not only saved resources but also aligned with the upscale image of the hotels.

The Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts project has received recognition for its outstanding design and sustainability efforts. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2013 for its remarkable expertise, innovation, and positive impact on guests. The project showcases the power of design to create a memorable experience while promoting sustainability.

The Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts, designed by Marcelo Lopes Design, is a testament to the power of design to enhance guest experiences and promote sustainability. Through their innovative design strategy, the project has successfully reduced waste, optimized resources, and created a unique and memorable stay for guests. The project's recognition and awards further solidify its position as a leader in the hospitality industry.
