The Floral Dress by Gabriel Cetrez is a testament to the timeless allure of nature. Inspired by multicolor flowers such as orchids and tulips, the design transforms these elements into floral patterns that define the dress's silhouette. The result is a piece that is both purist and feminine, timeless and ageless, and full of contrast.
Realizing this design required a combination of hand-sewn, hand-weaving, and machine sewing techniques. Materials like jersey, chiffon, polyester, cotton-blend, and elasthane were used to bring the design to life. The dress caters to women's apparel sizes ranging from US-Size 8-16, ensuring its accessibility to a broad audience.
The design process began with operation analysis conducted through sketches, which were then illustrated into CAD and finally produced by the atelier tailleur. The entire collection was designed in Germany over a period of three months, highlighting Cetrez's commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Research played a crucial role in the creation of the Floral Dress. Cetrez studied the architecture of nature shapes, lines, and floral color palettes, later implementing these elements into the dress's silhouette. This approach resulted in a design that is devoted to the present style of high fashion.
Despite the challenges of finding suitable fabrics for each different outfit and ensuring affordable quality with good fitting, Cetrez successfully overcame these hurdles. The result is a collection that offers timeless and trendy styles, wearable for any occasion. The Floral Dress, with its multicolor prints and patterns shaped in modern slim fit cuts, reflects different and unique looks of the silhouette.
For his outstanding work, Gabriel Cetrez was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in 2016. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
