Tangtangwu: A Deliciously Designed Logo and VI

Creating a Brand Image for Tangtangwu with Dongdao Creative Branding Group

Founded in 2006, Tangtangwu has grown from a small online shop to a reputable brand dealing in all types of delicious foods. To enhance its recognition and establish an exclusive brand image, Tangtangwu collaborated with Dongdao Creative Branding Group to create a logo and visual identity (VI) that captures the essence of their offerings.

The inspiration for the Tangtangwu logo came from the concept of storing up global foods. The Chinese characters 'wu' and 'tang' represent delicious food home and sweet taste feeling, respectively. Dongdao Creative Branding Group aimed to reflect the joy of tasting and attract the attention of male consumers through their graphical presentation of 'wu'. The rounded lines and warm colors used in the logo convey a sense of aesthetic appeal and facilitate easy recognition and communication.

What sets Tangtangwu apart is its commitment to offering a wide variety of delicious foods, not just candies. The logo needed to avoid the misconception of selling candies and appeal to a broader market. Dongdao Creative Branding Group successfully achieved this by combining graphics with the name 'tangtangwu', creating a logo that captures the fine mood in enjoying snacks.

In addition to the logo, Dongdao Creative Branding Group also designed a mascot for Tangtangwu. The mascot, a little faerie, embodies loveliness, smartness, and joy. With her magic wand, she showcases a variety of yummy foods. The mascot perfectly complements the logo, showcasing the happy mood associated with simplicity and joy in tasting.

The Tangtangwu logo and VI project was undertaken by Dongdao Design Team in Shanghai. The project started in June 2015 and was completed in August 2015. Throughout the creative process, Dongdao Creative Branding Group conducted extensive research to ensure the logo effectively communicated the brand's identity. The use of rounded lines and warm colors was carefully chosen to convey the joy of tasting and create an aesthetic appeal.

One of the main challenges faced by the design team was avoiding the misconception of selling only candies. By combining graphics with the name 'tangtangwu', they successfully communicated the brand's diverse range of delicious foods. The logo and mascot design received the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2017, recognizing their well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.
