Inclusiveness: A Unique Interior Design

Creating a Harmonious and Functional Living Space

Inclusiveness is an interior design project by Po-Min Chang and Hsin-Yen Hsu that aims to create a visually authentic and functional living space. With a focus on incorporating diverse materials and considering environmental elements, this design stands out in the realm of interior design.

The large indoor space in the building presents a magnificent porch and gallery. The walnut cabinets furnished along the gallery are embedded with an auto shoe closet, adding functionality to the design. The black upfront wall, adorned with relief sculptures in bird-and-flower patterns, displays the elegance of black and the liveliness of figures. This combination of elements creates a visually striking and unique design.

What sets Inclusiveness apart is its ability to balance visual authenticity with functionality. The application of diverse materials does not compromise the charm of the residence. Additionally, the designers' consideration of environmental elements from a museum perspective showcases their skillful profession.

The design is realized through the use of light projections from black lighting fixtures on both sides, creating a glowing effect on the wall decorations. The installation art and traditional oriental style blend harmoniously, generating an atmosphere of adversity. The consolidation of dark walnuts, black walls and lighting fixtures, and decorations in black and gold creates both classical and grandiloquent atmospheres.

This interior design project covers a space of 230 square meters, providing ample room for creativity and functionality. The design team, consisting of Po-Min Chang and Hsin-Yen Hsu, worked diligently to ensure that the space met the client's needs and desires.

Inclusiveness is designed to be interactive, with a display in multiform, a search for supreme quality, and a focus on greatness and perfection. The living room, with two entrances and two TVs, showcases the idea of symmetry and caters to the client's interest in collections. The multi-functional design of the living room allows for party receptions, collection displays, and entertainment.

The project was completed in December 2016 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The design team conducted extensive research to incorporate western and oriental styles, resulting in a harmonious blend of cultures. Creative and technical challenges were overcome, such as the intricate details in the ceilings decorated with silver foil and the luxurious lacquer process in the main bedroom. The use of distinctive colored log floors and Chinese-style decorations further adds to the genuine quality of the design.

Based on the specific qualities of different spaces, Inclusiveness showcases various styles, including the sedateness from China, the elegance from Japan, and the civilization from Victoria. The designers' focus on visual authenticity and functionality shines through in this interior design project, where the application of diverse materials does not compromise the overall charm of the residence.
