Inspired by the desire to elevate the consumer's shopping experience, Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag aims to create a sense of exclusivity and luxury while maintaining affordability and high quality. The design team, in collaboration with the marketing department of Aspiag Group, sought to transform the mundane act of grocery shopping into a pampering and unique experience.
One of the standout features of Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag is the use of large format photographs by renowned Italian food photographer, Aleandro Battistini. These images, captured in black and white with touches of color, depict scenes of a chef at work in a kitchen. The photographs create a visually stunning and emotionally engaging atmosphere, highlighting the freshness and quality of the products available.
Another key aspect of the design is the minimal signage, which guides customers through the supermarket in an easy-to-follow manner. The signage is made from Metacrillato, a material chosen for its impressive visual impact at a low cost. Additionally, Metacrillato is easy to remove, allowing for future changes and minimizing environmental impact.
Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag is designed to be adaptable to retail locations of various sizes. Each large format photograph is modular, measuring 3m x 4m, ensuring flexibility and scalability. This design approach allows for a consistent and cohesive experience across different supermarket locations.
During the design process, extensive research was conducted to differentiate Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag from other supermarkets within the EuroSpar group. The aim was to create a distinct and innovative personality for this new format. By utilizing a neutral color palette of gray, silver, and black, the design enhances the products and creates a cohesive environment. Typography was carefully chosen to ensure easy readability.
Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag was not only a creative endeavor but also a technical and financial challenge. The design team successfully overcame the obstacle of creating a supermarket that was both visually appealing and cost-effective. By utilizing Metacrillato and implementing modular design elements, they achieved a high-impact result at a lower cost compared to other supermarkets in the group.
This groundbreaking design project began in 2012, and the first Eurospar Premium supermarket was inaugurated in January 2014 in Merano. Since then, Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag has received recognition for its excellence. In 2015, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the design's practicality, innovation, and ability to meet professional and industrial requirements.
Eurospar Premium del Gruppo Aspiag, with its unique approach to supermarket design, has redefined the way we shop for groceries. By combining art, architecture, and innovation, this design offers a truly exceptional and unforgettable shopping experience.
