Raynon Chiu's Mangrove: A Zen-Inspired Sales Center

Harmonious Coexistence of Nature and People in a Tranquil Space

Raynon Chiu drew inspiration from Zen, a school of Mahayana Buddhism that emphasizes meditation and intuition. The Mangrove is a testament to this philosophy, aiming to create a space where nature and people can coexist harmoniously. The design is devoid of extravagant decorations, focusing instead on a concise and delicate aesthetic that exudes confidence and charm.

The Mangrove sets itself apart with its unique properties. The design is realized using a variety of materials including gray artificial stone, Italy wood grain, black titanium, wood finishes, acrylic, and toughened glass. The result is a 168㎡ space that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The project, which started in December 2014 and was completed in April 2015 in Shenzhen, is a collaborative effort. Raynon Chiu worked with Chen Hao and Li Junwei to bring this vision to life. The team utilized waterscapes at the entrance of the building to mitigate the surrounding noise, creating a tranquil atmosphere that helps visitors release their stress.

The Mangrove is more than just a sales center; it's a testament to the transformative power of design. The space's unique design and mature landscaping offer a sense of serenity that is often missing in urban environments. The design's impact extends beyond its physical attributes, influencing the quality of life and atmosphere for those who experience it.

Raynon Chiu's Mangrove has been recognized for its design excellence, winning the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2016. This award is granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advancing art, science, design, and technology.
